People who know me know that I am in love with sunrises and sunsets. There is something beautiful and special in both of them, but many miss even giving it a try. When people are sleeping, I am chasing the sunrise at 5am or even earlier. When people are busy or feeling frustrated about the daily stress, I take some time off to relax while watching the sunset because there is no same sunset, everyday it changes.

Get outside. Watch the sunrise. Watch the sunset. How does that make you feel? Does it make you feel big or tiny? Because there’s something good about feeling both.–Amy Grant

 SUNRISE & RAINBOW

Starting the day early in Sampaguita Dive Resort gives me the advantage to be ahead of my schedule as well as giving me this wonderful view to start stronger by keeping me in the moment.

It feels like the water is on fire…

The world looks so peaceful with sky being covered in pink, yellow, orange, a bit of blue…

Then the rainbow becomes visible, reminding me how looooooong it’s been since I last saw one. Don’t we  look so small when we focus on the big picture? All our worries, problems, disappointments seem so small… That’s when I feel more grateful to be able to realize this..

SUNSETS & STORM

Starting from 5.30pm-6pm, I was getting ready on my spot to watch the sunset…everyday it is different from the previous one…

Every sunset is a different beauty…

This is so worth it…shades between lights…this is like a book of nature…anyone who sees it will attach a different meaning to it depends on how they feel…For me, it shows possibilities, different paths and feels good to be able to have the courage to follow my dreams…

It gets more and more beautiful…

The last day gave me another beautiful sunset where there was a storm right on top of the other island which is known as Negros and it lasted so long…

As there was no rain on Moalboal, I was able to watch the storm across the sea grew stronger with all the thunder and lightning…

Even though I started watching the sunset alone on the first day, 

the next day these lovely girls came on to the pier to meet me and we watched the sunsets together. I have learnt so much from them about their lives, their dreams…Angel, the one with the hair band in the mid picture could speak very good English so it was easy to communicate with her. The last day I was waiting for them but they didn’t show up so I was packing my camera to leave but then I heard Angel calling out my name and coming out of the darkness running and holding a flower necklace saying that “Evaaaaa, I made this for you!” Such a beautiful heart, these kind of things make me so emotional…She asked me “Are you leaving tomorrow? Are you leaving for good?” and I said to her that “this isn’t a goodbye, just a see you next time!”

Sunset is still my favorite color, and rainbow is second. – Mattie Stepanek
