What makes Bangkok’s streets unique?
Have you ever wondered what makes Asian countries, especially Southeast Asian countries, that unique? I am sure you’ve thought about why the streets full of local people are that appealing…
Because of all the reasons and more, I just can’t get enough of Southeast Asian countries…
Here you’re gonna read about
- The best foreign exchange rates in Bangkok,
- The heaven of fruit and spicy food
- A combination of the interesting things that you can see
- Open air transportation vehicles
- My answer to “What makes Bangkok’s streets that unique”
- Now it is your turn
You’re coming with me to enjoy the view along the streets of Bangkok…
After having a great breakfast, I got my hat, yellow bag and pink running shoes and ready for my traditional picture in front of the hostel to start the day…
HOW CAN I FIND THE BEST FOREIGN EXCHANGE RATES IN BANGKOK?
It’s a must for me to find a good foreign exchange office today…But which one is better? Which one has the best rates? The owner of the hostel I stayed at gave the answer to these questions:
Our destination is “Super Rich Foreign Exchange Office”. It is the best place that gives the best rates you can find the branches in Sky metro stations.
Got our Bahts and we can keep going now…
The tents are increasing at the protest zones day by day…Seeing this movement makes me to think back the times in Turkey…
Ohhh look who are here? Lovely puppies again …I wanna pet them but better not to…
Here is our express boat…
Jumping on the boat …
Here is a picture that you get to see so rare but needs to be more out there…A family, travelling with their little girl. Having a kid doesn’t mean that you have to stuck at home. You can keep growing with your kid as you experience different landscapes, cultures and people while travelling. I think being open-minded is the most important thing to show to your kid. I love to see the families like that. To be able take your kids with you to travel together will help the young generation to have a high awareness.
Looking away, far and high…
A lady selling fruits on the boat…
I’ll catch the writings related with “audit” whereever they are, on a bag or somewhere else…If you ask why, because having a Deloitte culture makes you see anything related with audit, even after many years…
THE ACCESSORIZE TRENDS IN BANGKOK’S STREETS
Bangkok is one of the places in Southeast Asian countries where accessorizes are used a lot and they are really important in Bangkok’s street fashion. Mirrored sun glasses, giant rings and bracelets are so popular here.
Wat Arun is winking to us behind the cargo boat…
This statue is everywhere…
Flowers have a big importance when it comes to Thai traditions..They represent life, appreciation and energy.
It’s so interesting that in every country there are people who think that I look like someone they know…This lady told me that I looked like her grand daughter….
The man who is trying to say hello in more than 7 languages as he has no idea where I am from.
What about wigs?
Hello to you too…You’ll see people bending on their knees and staying like that for hours…That’s a common thing for Asian countries…
Any one needs some traditional outfit?
WELCOME TO THE SPICY FOOD AND FRUIT HEAVEN
My favourite is pineapple slices…
Here is what you can have other than pineapples…
These are so vivid…They all say “come and drink us”…
Got my pineapple slices and ready to go…
As you know that sticky rice mango is really popular in Thailand…
Bangkok, the fruit heaven…If you can’t eat spicy food, you can have fruits at every corner, at least you won’t starve till you find a non-spicy food…
Now you know what I love…If you ask what I did the previous one, it’s finished, so I needed a new one…
I keep buying fruits but I need proper food…All I see is spicy food and tones of red pepper…

More spicy food…
Schools are still open and here we have a student waiting to pay for her lunch box full of spicy food.
These fishes would be so good but I am sure they already have a different taste with the spicy sauce they swim in…
Various vegetable soups…
I found myself, again, in front of the fruit stand…
Walking through one of the streets which is occupied by tones of spicy food and fruits…
This is all mine…
Don’t worry there is plenty of them…
More fruits….
No spicy food, done with the fruits, maybe I should try these crackers, what do you think?
Interesting moon cakes…This is generally special for China but it spread to most of the Asian countries. The shape of these cakes here are different than the ones in China.
Finally I found a place for me, I’ll try the vegetable noodle here and then keep going…
INTERESTING STUFF
The store that has a whole different perspective to souvenirs. Every time I look at this picture, it feels like they are gonna move and chase me haha…
What about this? Bloody plastic hands..It’s not even halloween yet…Scary!! and ohh what about the animal over there…Well, let me tell you one thing about scary movies. I love to watch them, I am also so scared but I just love watching them..The thing is when the movie is finished, it’s so hard even to turn off the lights haha.
The man covered with tattoos…His throat, cheeks, nose…This is really detailed man!
Looks like a nice cafe but wait…
The owner of the cafe probably cannot stand people who only uses the toilet, so he has this direct message which is supported with the red peppers, pretty cool.
The stand of “the things that you will need one day”…
An interesting dessert, In Turkish it means “Sh*t”, it made me laugh out loud…
How nice, we’re not going to see the Grand Palace as it is closed due to a special condition.
As insisting won’t solve anything, it is better to visit nearby temples and historical places…
Maximum capacity test for the tuk tuk…
Ohh look, the mouse enjoying the leftover of a pineapple…
Here is the summary of why it is necessary to have the responsibility of finding a trash bin instead of just leaving the leftovers on the pavement…
OPEN AIR TRANSPORTATION VEHICLES?
In buses all windows are open..You may see a monk sitting next to you (if you’re a guy)…If you don’t have a problem with waiting on the same spot for a long time due to Bangkok’s famous traffic jam then you should give it a try…
Tuk tuk is a sweet vehichle which combines speed and traditionality, I love it…
If you say: I don’t have time, I don’t even have any patience, I love being independent, leave me alone and I’ll find my way…Here is what you need: motorcycles
As you can see locals also prefer to have their motorcycles…
WHAT MAKES BANGKOK’S STREETS UNQİUE?
You know what they say, it’s the people what makes a place beautiful. This is so true…Most of the people you see in Bangkok’s streets are the ones who haven’t lost their sincere smiles eventhough they own a little in life.
The other features that make Bangkok’s streets unique are the endless fruit and spicy food vendors…The food hipnotizes you with its colors due to incredible amount of spice…What about fruits having rainbow colors…You will find yourself in the middle of a food bazaar and another bazaar starts before the previous one ends…That’s why bazaars in Bangkok are endless…
Plus, all the interesting stuff that you see in the streets will make your day unqiue for sure.
No matter what some people say, I love Bangkok!
NOW IT’S YOUR TURN?
