24 hours before I am off to Vietnam!

“Let us know if you’re tired…”

Flying from Istanbul to Shanghai with a heavy quincy is really not comfortable at all…This is the first time I’m that sick on a long flight…The air steward makes an announcement ” if you feel tired, have a fewer, cannot sleep, having difficulty in breathing, please inform us!”…well you almost listed all the things as if saying like if you feel bored, please come to us…well I know that I am just having a heavy quincy and don’t wanna deal with anything that can jeopardize my trip to Vietnam tomorrow…But now I am  dreaming of  my warm room, to sleep and wake up feeling better…

China is having the coldest winter in 35 years…

What happened to Shanghai…

We landed in Shanghai and as soon as I walked out of Pudong airport to get a cab, I ran back inside immediately cause it was freaking cold!!! I’ve never seen Shanghai that cold and as it is said to be the coldest winter in 35 years…I always thought that Istanbul is colder than Shanghai…even though it is “-6” degrees here, humid made it double cold…

I jumped into a taxi but here taxis don’t use their aircon, they see heat as something bad and they have this attitude as if men won’t feel cold. Dude, you might be ok sitting with 6 layers on but your customers are freezing. I asked him if he could turn on the aircon but he said it is not working…niceee, I am just gonna go deeper in my coat and try to get warm with my own breath…

“Pipes.!”

Finally arrived home…my dream was to sleep in my comfy and warm room right…hahaha…The reality at home was different like very…Aircons weren’t working, electricity was on and off, no hot water, actually no water at all cause the pipes in the building and in most of the buildings in Shanghai were frozen…as Shanghai wasn’t prepared for a winter that cold…yeah we don’t have radiators on our walls inside the houses, we have aircons here and of course when people increase the temperature and start using them non-stop, the power will be cut…What is happening is a terrible joke! Not finished, the next one is the most hilarious one! the building management told us not to use the toilet cause the pipes over there were frozen too…these are sweet sweet sweeeeeeeeet news….everybody is telling each other the news laughing out loud cause it sounds so ridiculous hahaha…One of my roommates prepares hot chocolate to say welcome to me and we all put 6 layers on and sit down on the couches in the living room and started to laugh out loud….some of my friends told me that they were going to spend the night in a hotel to have a hot shower and use the toilet haha…this is the best welcome party ever hahaha! Finally I go to my room and get under the duet, I cannot even put my finger out of the duet, brrrrr it is so cold here…my dream to sleep in my room was limited only with the hot chocolate…putting on the hats, gloves, coats on and sleeping under my duet…

As I cannot move because of the cold, I will be finalizing the last preparations tomorrow, right now all I need is to sleep…I loved to say ” this was a joke, just kidding” but not, I can see my breath in the room…

My philosophy:  Don’t get mad for the things you cannot change, accept and smile…
